Lead Pastor Danny & Von Nell Baggett
Over my years God has developed my personal vision to encourage, empower, educate and to equip people to fulfill their God given dreams.
In the first years of my life and ministry I spent 8 1/2 years in Central Florida working through my education at Southeastern University and during my time there, I served as youth pastor and music pastor at Eagle Lake Assembly of God
In 1985, I received a phone call from our superintendent, J Foy Johnson who said, “Danny I’m about to close up a church at Oceanway Assembly of God. If you’re interested in coming - let’s believe God for a harvest.” What my superintendent did not realize was when In my sophomore year in college God spoke to my heart that one day I would go to Jacksonville and build a great church.
Von Nell and I accepted the call and with God‘s favor and blessing, we watched God do some extraordinary things that only His hand could accomplish. God blessed us with 30 years of ministry. I will always have a dear-place in my heart for the people at Oceanway Assembly.
In March 2019, the district again ask me if I’d be willing to reopen a church that had been closed for nearly a year. I sense a second wind in my sails and believe the hand of God is about to orchestrate another great ministry.
This new ministry will be called CHURCH OF HOPE , offering Hope not only to those in our city but to those around the world. I’m excited about our future and what God’s going to do.
This ministry will be about bringing people INTO the Kingdom of God and building people UP for the Kingdom of God.
Worship leader
John’s heart for worship is simply this: to humbly bring praises to the throne room of God, making every moment about the Lord and lead people into the presence of the Holy Spirit. Never making it about man, but all about who we are singing about and to.
He has over 3 decades of experience in leading worship in the UK and the US. John has a skill of crossing over generations by incorporating contemporary worship songs with classic hymns. Worship is a way of life for John and not just something set aside for a Sunday morning.
If you would like to find out more about becoming involved in worship, media or sound please email John at: worship@cohjax.com.

Amanda has a burning desire to raise up a generation that has a burning desire for Jesus. She believes that God always uses young people as agents of change. She believe God has her here for such a time as this.

Kids Pastor
Dylan relocated from Nashville, TN with his wife and six children when the Lord called him to serve here at Church of Hope. He has a heart for pursuing Christ and serving Christ in every possible way. He strongly believes in equipping each and every person to have a firm foundation that is the Lord Jesus Christ. We want families to know who they are through Christ, and give them the tools and knowledge they need, to be who God has called them to be, and have a burning fire for Christ that spreads like no other. We truly believe in not just being a children’s church, but raising disciples.
We want church to not be a place kids “have” to go with their parents, but instead a place they’re insisting their parents to take them to.
Hope Kids focuses on ages 6 weeks to 5th grade. Each Sunday Hope Kids will provide a fun, engaging and gospel-centered service for Preschoolers and Elementary students.
